  • Valid Overman Competency Certificate (Un-Restricted) from DGMS for OC & UG Mines
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Valid Gas Testing Certificate

Mining Sirdar (T&S Gr-C)

  • 10+2 / Intermediate OR Diploma in Mining Engineering (3 yrs) OR Degree in Mining Engineering
  • Valid Mining Sirdarship Certificate of Competency (Un-Restricted) from DGMS for OC & UG Mines
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Valid Gas Testing Certificate

Surveyor (T&S Gr-B)

  • 10+2 / Intermediate OR Diploma in Mining/Mine Surveying Engineering (3 yrs) OR Degree
  • Valid Survey Certificate of Competency (Un-Restricted) from DGMS for OC & UG Mines

Translator (Tr.) OL Cl. Gr. III

  • B.A. or equivalent with Hindi & English
  • Govt. Diploma Holder in Hindi Translation preferred

Technician (Pathology) Tr. T&S Gr-C

  • Diploma in Pathology from a Government-recognized Institute

Critical: For Jr. Overman, Mining Sirdar & Surveyor — the statutory competency certificates must be Un-Restricted (valid for both Open Cast & Underground Mines). Restricted certificates will NOT be accepted. All certificates must be valid as on the cut-off date i.e. 06/Apr/2026.

The cut-off date for determining age is the last date of receipt of application i.e. 06 April 2026.

Benefits: In addition to basic pay, employees of MCL receive House Rent Allowance, Dearness Allowance, medical benefits, leave travel assistance, provident fund, gratuity, and other perks as per Coal India norms. 9. Selection Process

The selection methodology comprises of Computer Based Test (CBT) only. No personal interview will be held.

Computer Based Test (CBT)

Objective type MCQ with two sections: Section A (General Awareness/Aptitude — 20 questions, 1 mark each) and Section B (Technical Knowledge — 80 questions, 1 mark each). Total: 100 marks. No negative marking. Bilingual (English/Hindi).

Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates (1:3 ratio based on merit) will be called for document verification with original certificates/testimonials at MCL's website.

Initial Medical Examination (IME)

Provisionally selected candidates must undergo medical examination by the Company's doctors and be declared medically fit for employment in Mines. Minimum height requirement: 60 inches (except for Translator & Technician Pathology — only in case of Dwarfism).

Score Normalization: If CBT is conducted in multiple shifts, scores will be normalized using the formula: Xn = (S2/S1)*(X - Xav) + Yav, where S2 is the SD of the base shift, S1 is the SD of the candidate's shift, X is the raw score, Xav is the shift average, and Yav is the base shift average.

11. Medical Fitness & Health Standards

Appointment is provisional subject to the candidate being found medically fit as per standards prescribed by MCL:

  • Medical examination at designated hospital by Company's doctors
  • Must be declared medically fit for employment in Mines as per MAR (Medical Attendance Rules)
  • Minimum height: 60 inches (except for Translator & Technician Pathology — only in Dwarfism cases)
  • Findings of Company's doctors will be final — those found UNFIT will be disqualified

12. General Instructions & Conditions

  • Candidature is provisional, subject to verification of certificates and character antecedents
  • Application must be submitted through ONLINE mode only
  • Govt./Semi-Govt./PSU employees must produce "No Objection Certificate" at document verification
  • CIL subsidiary employees serving in other subsidiaries should try inter-subsidiary transfer
  • Selected candidates may be posted in Underground & Opencast mines/projects of MCL and may be transferred to other CIL subsidiaries
  • Validity of merit panel: 01 year or as per Govt. guidelines
  • All disputes under jurisdiction of Sambalpur Court only
  • English version of notification will prevail in case of ambiguity
  • Candidates can opt for three Test Cities during application (cannot be changed after submission)
